The Historic City of Chester boasts a history to be proud of. In the past it has served as a commercial River Port and a Roman Garrison. Today it is a choice shopping area with historic interest.
Chester, the Roman fortress of Deva, is a walled city - It boasts well-preserved Walls, an Amphitheatre and a Cathedral. There is also a unique two-tiered, Medieval-style shopping mall called the Chester Rows.
There are good road and rail links to Chester, and it is within easy reach of the Welsh and Cheshire Countryside and other major cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Chester has an historic Race Course (the Roodee) and the River Dee atrracts many visitors. |
